Zook is the founder and first artist of Hilltop Music, an independent label built on authenticity, growth, and creative freedom. Beginning his music career in the early 2000s, Zook released his debut studio album in 2008, setting the foundation for a body of work defined by longevity, evolution, and purpose. His most recent release, Up Up, marks his fourth studio album and reflects an artist fully committed to elevation—personally, creatively, and sonically.

Born and raised in Altadena, California, Zook’s sound is rooted in West Coast tradition, paying homage to the artists and culture that shaped him while refusing to remain confined by region or expectation. Now based in East Texas, his music carries a broader perspective—blending street awareness, reflection, and ambition into a sound that resonates beyond geography.

Across his catalog, Zook demonstrates versatility and fearlessness. While Hip Hop remains his foundation, he openly explores other genres and addresses topics that challenge norms rather than conform to them. His lyrics often balance confidence with introspection, capturing the realities of growth, responsibility, and self-definition.
